Ah, The Police. Andy Summers, Stewart Copeland and Sting. Most of the tunes you'll know; 'Walking On The Moon', 'Message In A Bottle', 'DeDoDoDo DeDaDaDa' (sorry about the stutter), but nowadays, partially due to Sting's success as a solo artist, they've become the property of the thirty-something, comfortable car, with kids set. This film shows you how they should be remembered, three guys, playing cool songs, on the verge of kicking the shit out of each other (and they don't hold back in the film, great arguments). Sting has yet to go through his pretentious phase, Stewart has yet to realise that it's not just HIS band, and Andy is the other one.
The film was made on their first world tour back in about 1980/81, which was achieved on a REAL shoestring budget (courtesy of the manager, Stewart's elder brother Miles Copeland) and takes in Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, India, Egypt, France and the Americas.
It's not available in the UK anymore so if you can get hold of a copy, guard it like gold dust.
SUMMARY: EE-OH, EE-OH (in an early eighties type styleee).
