12 Angry Men

12 Angry Men

First a hugely successful play and then a fantastic film starring Henry Fonda (recently re-made for US TV I'm told). Having said that, it would be wrong to suggest that Mr. Fonda carried the movie on his own, if you watch it, you would be hard pushed to find a crap performance from any of those that took part.

It's a very simple plot, twelve jurors sit in judgement over a boy accused of murder and the film is set in the jury room as they deliberate over the fate for the accused. A minor miracle has been achieved in the fact that the action never moves beyond this room (save for one scene in a washroom) and yet it remains intense and absolutely absorbing.

A great film for a rainy Sunday afternoon, a few beers/Dr. Pepper and a big bag of salt & vinegar flavoured Pringles. In fact, let me look at the latest weather report…
